About Totara Waters

TOTARA WATERS is a 2 acre subtropical garden set on the upper Waitemata Harbour. Development began in 1999 by Peter and Jocelyn Coyle, whereby extensive planting of rare and unusual plants have been included in the garden.

There are many species of :

  • Palms
  • Cycads
  • Aloes
  • Agaves
  • Beaucarneas
  • Yuccas
  • Dracaenas
  • Bromeliads
  • Succulents
  • Cacti
  • Bonsai

Unusual pots, garden art and chimney pots are also a featured. We are constantly adding to our unique garden for your enjoyment.

We welcome : Garden Clubs, Social Clubs, Bus and Coach Tours.

We have Parrots on display, large melting pots, chimney pots, and a variety of Garden Art. Totara Waters features a stunning Bonsai Collection, over 25 varieties of Palms, and a large display of Bromeliads and Succulents.

The Garden:

  • Open to the public by appointment
  • Groups/Clubs anytime by appointment
  • Admission is $10 per person
  • Overseas Groups - Guided Tour $15
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits $5 (by arrangement)
  • Easy Access
  • Toilet (wheelchair)
